What a wonderful camping trip to Horne Lake!  We all had a great time camping and exploring the caves.  Thanks to Jane, Tom, Heidi, Ken, Michelle, and Dana for coming on the trip.  Here's a link to class pictures and some pictures from Horne Lake.      Class Pix

Subjects

Math:   We continue investigating patterns in math.  Students are creating patterns and then graphing them using coordinate geometry.
   "Math is the science of patterns."
Reading:    Students are reading "just right" stories from a program called Reading A to Z.  We continue to focus on learning vocabulary patterns.
Writing:    Students are continue to practice and learn about sentences and grammar.  They are working in pairs to do some mind mapping of their trip to Horne Lake.  
Science: We begin our study of geology--rocks and minerals this week. 
Social Studies: Our focus is mapping: the world and Canada.
Art:  We continue to investige patterns and lines in art.   
PE:  Students are practicing ball handling and we are focusing on beginning fitness and flexibility. 
French:   In French this week we are focusing on the greetings, and numbers.
