This week their are parent interviews on Wednesday afternoon.  I have a sign up sheet outside the classroom.  If you are unable to meet with me on Wednesday you are welcome to phone or email me to arrange another meeting time.


Subjects

Math:   We are investigating patterns in math.  Students are looking at number and symbol patterns plus we are also studying graphs.
   "Math is the science of patterns."
Reading:   I have begun to assess students in their reading and students are finding their "just right" reading level.  Students are also focusing on learning vocabulary patterns.
Writing:    Students are learning about sentences and grammar.  We are spending a lot of time focusing on the basics of writing.  
Science: Since we are visiting Horne Lake Caves we are studying caves and rocks.
Social Studies: Our focus is mapping: the world and Canada.
Art:  We are looking at patterns and lines in art.   
PE:  Students are practicing ball handling and we are focusing on beginning fitness and flexibility 
French:   We start French this week and will be focusing on the basics of greetings, names, and numbers.
