This is the last week before Spring Break.  I hope everyone has a wonderful break!

Subjects

Math:   We are working on the theme of measurement starting with linear measures using mm, cm, m and km.
Reading: Students have been practicing retelling fables and making paper characters so they can perform a shadow puppet theater this week.  It should be fun.
Writing: We've written a paragraph on the student's favourite places around the school.  Students then took pictures and used Adobe Voice to talk about their favourite places.  Some students will be showing their Talk to Whole School Meeting.
Keyboarding: Keyboarding practice continues.  www.freetypinggame.net
Social Studies:    We will be starting a unit on the Gold Rush to B.C. this week.  Students will be creating characters to come to Barkerville in 1850.
Art: We've created a lot of interesting art over the past few weeks including some great activities with students creating pictures in the style of Ted Harrison.  I'm really impressed with the class' art!
PE:  We are practicing basketball skills for the next few weeks.  I teach a dance lesson every Wednesday.  We're continue to do folk dancing.
French:  We continue to practice the days of the week and the months plus they have learned about the weather.
