This Week
Welcome to the last week before spring break. Girls will be playing in the gym against SSE on Tuesday at 11:30; the boys at school on Thursday. So far we’ve had great games and the teams have played very well. Reports will be sent home on Thursday along with school work students have completed over the past couple of months.
Subjects
Math: Students are will be investigating liquids and then we’ll be doing some outdoor measurements in the garden.
Reading: We are continuing to read scripts trying to look at different ideas for a class play at the end of the year. On Wednesdays we continue working with poetry--reading and writing.
Writing: Students are finishing off a fictional story this week.
Keyboarding: Keyboarding practice continues daily. I encourage students to practice keyboarding at home at the online site we use at school. www.freetypinggame.net
Social Studies: Students have chosen a job to work at as they homestead their 160 acres. They will finish their 4 year journal entries this week.
Art: Much of our art projects have to do with activities concerning the homesteads such as drawing their homestead and building a model of their home.
PE: We continue with dance on Tuesdays. We will be learning some fun dances from the 60’s Students continue learning basketball skills and will be tested using the Premier Sports Award program.
French: We have been learning about the weather and practicing simple conversations. I also plan on teaching them a couple of songs.
