This Week
Mr. Bean will be teaching most of the lessons in all subject areas this week. He's got some great ideas and we've talked extensively about the lessons and units he has planned. I'll be offering support and help in the class as needed. On Thursday our class and Mr. MacQueen's class will be going to GISS for their Remembrance Day ceremony followed by a volleyball game and swimming. Please return the permission slip along with $5 to cover the bus and swimming.
Subjects
Math: Students completed a quiz on place on Thursday and now will be starting a math unit on adding and subtracting with Mr. Bean.
Reading: The focus this week will be reading activities concerning Remembrance Day. We will be presenting "In Flanders' Fields" to whole school meeting on Wednesday.
Writing: Students will be writing poems and short responses to ideas for Remembrance Day.
Keyboarding: Keyboarding practice continues daily. I encourage students to practice keyboarding at home at the online site we use at school. www.freetypinggame.net
Science: The class will be a unit on nutrition and the digestive system with Mr. Bean.
Art: Mr. Bean will be introducing the colour wheel and mixing colours.
PE: We have just about finished our jive dancing and have talked about how to present jiving to an audience. We continue with volleyball for a couple of weeks.
French: We continue to practice greetings and phrases. Students really seem to enjoy it learning the songs and beginning words!
