This Week
I'm glad to be back at class after being away in Summerland to be at the funeral of my father. Thanks to those who have offered kind words and sympathy. This week Mr. Bean will be teaching all the subjects and I'm very pleased with the behaviour of the students and how they have responded so positively to him. On Thursday we will be going to Victoria to visit the Museum, see IMAX and go swimming at Panorama. Please read the itinerary of the notice and return the permission slip along with the money for the trip.
Subjects
Math: Students will be continuing a math unit on adding and subtracting with Mr. Bean.
Reading: Students have been doing readers' theater and will now be starting a unit on myths, fables and legends.
Writing: Students will be focusing on writing paragraphs and doing research for a report on animals.
Keyboarding: Keyboarding practice continues daily. I encourage students to practice keyboarding at home at the online site we use at school. www.freetypinggame.net
Science: The class will be continuing with the unit on nutrition and the digestive system with Mr. Bean.
Art: Mr. Bean will be introducing the colour wheel and mixing colours.
PE: We are learning line dancing with Mr. Bean. We will continue with volleyball for a couple of weeks.
French: We continue to practice greetings and phrases. Students really seem to enjoy it learning the songs and beginning words!
