This Week
It’s only 3 weeks until Christmas Holidays and we’ll be starting to do some Christmas crafts this week. Erika is coming in on Thursday to do some baked flour dough ornaments. Book fair is this week and pizza is on Wednesday.
Math: More practice with addition and subtraction including mental math.
Reading: We continue to look at prefixes and word meanings as well as short stories and reading out loud.
Writing: I am assessing students on their written work this week and we are starting a Christmas story that will be submitted to the annual Driftwood Christmas story contest.
Social studies: This week we are investigating plate tectonics and continental drift. We will compete a map of the provinces and their capitals and do an indoor orienteering course.
Art: Christmas crafts begin this week.
Recorder: Students will be getting some Christmas music to practice and learn this week.
PE: Monday—jogging and fitness; Tuesday--dance; and Wednesday and Thursday are game days—volleyball continues.
