This week we have pizza on Thursday.  Yumm!  Remember to send in money by Monday.  Quentin will be here on Tuesday to do some First Nations Art. 

Subjects

Math:   We continue investigating number theory--place value and number properties.  
   "Math is the science of patterns."
Reading:    Students continue to practice read aloud skills in class with the focus on fluency and expression.  We will focus on learning vocabulary and spelling patterns.
Writing:    Students continue to learn about sentences and grammar.   This week we will be writing a creative Halloween story. 
Science: Our class is investigating the history of the earth and will be doing research to produce a timeline that will be on display going down the ramp to the gym.
Social Studies: We have been doing some compass work and will be looking at longitude and latitude on maps.
Art:  We are focusing on Halloween Art.   
PE:  Students are practicing compass work, ultimate frisbee and we are focusing on fitness and flexibility. One day a week students have a dance class.  I've been teaching some folk dances and will soon start teaching them how to dance to Thriller by Michael Jackson.
French:   In French we are focusing on the greetings, numbers, and colours.
