This week students are excited about the track meet on Tuesday.  We'll be leaving from the school first thing in the morning and will be at Portlock Park all day returning at 2:30.  Students should bring lots of food to eat and water to drink as well as appropriate gym strip.  On Wednesday at 11:00 our class will be discussing set designs for the play Robin Hood.  If you are interested in helping with ideas for the sets please drop by.  The following week students who are able will be staying after school to paint the sets in the gym.

On Thursday at 2:00 you are welcome to come and visit the class Lego Robotic displays in the room across from the library (Next to Mr. MacQueen's class.)  The students have put a great deal of effort into the displays and would love to show them to you.  Hope you can make it!

Subjects

Math:   We are continuing with measurement and are now looking at mass and liquids weights.
"Math is the science of patterns."
Reading:   We continue reading and rehearsing Robin Hood daily.
Writing:    I began to teach the class how to make websites last week.  The websites will be a learning site and students will be creating pages that show their learning in subject areas.
Science: We had a great time with Camilla from GISS and the labs she did with us on skeletons and muscles.
Tech:  We will be displaying our Lego robotic projects this week on Thursday in the room across from the library. Parents can come to see the displays at 2:00.
Art:  We're designing art for our lego posters this week.
PE:  Students continue to do weekly fitness stations.  We will be starting track and field this week.  The track meet is May 30.

French:   Students did a great job labelling the parts of the body on an outline--very colourful and creative!
