Pizza $ is due on Monday and Pizza day is Thursday.  

We plan to go to the Fulford Estuary as soon as we are allowed access by the RCMP. Cate McEwan will be accompanying us and you are welcome to come as well.  We leave the school at 9:00.  I will let you know when we are going through the Planner.

Please send supply money ($26.50)  to school as soon as you can.  


Subjects

Math:   We will be working on the pattern project this week. Students will complete a pattern,T-chart and coordinate grid.  They will bring it home to show you when it is done.
 "Math is the science of patterns."
Reading: We continue to practice reading aloud with FLEX: Fluency, Loudness, and Expression.  I am also focusing on vocabulary and some spelling.
Writing: Students are completing a writing assignment on their trip to Horne Lake using a computer.
Tech: Students will start to use their email this week.  I will be teaching them features of using email.
Social Studies:   We continue with some compass work.  Students will be using mapping skills to make a map of Fulford Estuary in science.
Science: We will be discussing how to collect data at the  Fulford Estuary so that students can make a map of the Fulford Estuary area.  
Keyboarding:  We continue keyboarding in class which helps students to become better writers. Students can practice online at home at this site:   http://www.freetypinggame.net/
Art: We continue studying patterns and lines. Quentin Harris worked with us to make salmon which are hanging up in the classroom.  Pop in sometime to see them.
PE:  We've have started a weekly dance session.  I'll be starting with a variety of folk dance.  I'm currently teaching the students how to dance to Thriller and we hope to show it for Hallowe'en!
French:  Students will be starting to learn simple French words and greetings after next week's trip.
