What an exciting week this will be! We're off to Horne Lake caves on Tuesday morning. The students have organized the groups and made the plans for eating and camping arrangements and everything seems to fine. If you have any trouble getting something or need some help give me a call or email. I'm sending home a reminder, but will post it below in case you don't receive it Monday night.
On Thursday, Oct. 8 at 1:30 I am planning a Parent meeting at school with students in attendance. I will be introducing myself and discussing school issues, then students will be explaining class routines and leading you through some activities. I will send a note home this week about it.
Please always feel free to phone me or email me if you have any questions about what is happening in class. 250-537-4962 or jlightfoot@sd64.bc.ca

Math: Students continue learning about patterns and will be completing a small project. "Math is the science of patterns."
Reading: Students continue with Reading A to Z. We will be focussing on reading aloud and the criteria for good reading fluency.
Writing: Students are practicing writing sentences and the parts of a sentence. They will complete a writing assignment on their trip to Horne Lake.
Social Studies: We continue looking and learning about maps and I will start teaching them how to use compasses when we get back from our trip.
