Welcome to the New Year. I hope everyone had a great Holiday and Santa was good to everyone! I will spend the first week getting the students back into a learning rhythm. I will be sending home a reading log this week and expect students to read daily and log it onto their chart. The chart will be kept in the Planner. Please ensure your child is filling in the chart, I'll be keeping track of the reading at school.
Subjects
Math: We continue studying multiplication and the basic multiplication facts.
Reading: We will be going back to Reading A to Z for a few weeks as well as focusing on reading aloud and fluency.
Writing: We are back to focusing on sentence writing and developing strong sentences in order to write strong paragraphs.
Keyboarding: Keyboarding practice continues daily. I encourage students to practice keyboarding at home at the online site we use at school. www.freetypinggame.net
Science:We continue to study nutrition and healthy eating.
Art: In Art we'll be investigating the colour wheel and learning about colour mixing.
PE: We will be doing some balance activities in class and then starting gymnastics. Students practice dance once a week.
