    Once again on Tuesday and Thursday morning we have swimming lessons at Rainbow Pool.  We’re trying to practice “Alice” with blocking and no scripts this week.  Someone will be cue the students if they need help with their lines.

Subjects

Math:  We’ve started a math unit on fractions looking at identifying and naming fractions.  We’ll also begin adding/subtracting fractions.
Reading: Reading and practicing Alice will be the major focus of reading activities..
Writing:  Students will be writing short stories for the next couple of weeks.
Keyboarding: Keyboarding practice continues daily.   I encourage students to practice keyboarding at home at the online site we use at school.  www.freetypinggame.net
Science:  We are studying intertidal zones for the next couple of weeks and hope to take a trip to one of the local beaches soon for practical study of an intertidal zone..
Art: We’ll be looking at art having to do with the play “Alice in Wonderland”.
PE:  We continue to focus on track and field for the next weeks as the District Track meet is scheduled for May 27.
French:  We are studying Ma famille  and students are creating their own family tree.    I also plan on teaching them a couple of songs.
