This Week
We will be reading and writing about Remembrance Day this week. We will learn the poem In Flanders’ Field and the response to this poem.
Math: This week we practice rounding numbers and learn how to use Roman numerals.
Reading: The school now has Reading Workshops Monday to Wednesday. Students are grouped together to meet their reading needs. Our group continues to focus on using the dictionary, looking at word meanings, and developing individual reading skills.
Writing: This week we begin looking at descriptive paragraphs.
Science. This week we will finish the partner tree project.
Social studies: We look at maps: the world—continents and oceans; and North & South America.
Art: We’ll return to investigate types of lettering—vanishing point and 3D.
Recorder: Students will learn E and D notes and continue to compose their own music. Students are welcome to take their recorder and music home to practice.
PE: Monday—jogging and fitness; Tuesday--dance; and Wednesday and Thursday are game days—volleyball is starting.
