June,  2015
 The track meet was a great success and many of our students performed very well in the events.  I was really pleased with the behaviour and the sportsmanship of the students.  2 weeks until Treasure Island!!!  This week we're practicing without scripts and learning the music to go with the play.  Wednesday after school in the gym from 3:00 to 4:30 we will be decorating the sets for the play.  Come join us if you can.  On June 18, I am planning a trip to Vancouver with the class.  I will let you know next week the details and send home permission slips.   

Subjects
Math:   This week we finish geometry and will be starting fractions.
Reading: Treasure Island is our main focus for the next 2 weeks.
Writing: We continue to work on developing a character for a fictional story and working on Poetry.
Social Studies:   Students had made business cards and card holders for their Barkerville business.  They are having lots of fun with the activities.
Art: We will be designing sets and painting sets this week.  
PE:  After track we'll be doing some outdoor games.
French:  Students will continue to learn French phrases and dialogue using a whimsical series call Telefrancais..
